Question:
My 12 month old has an underbite. I don't know of anyone in my family or her father's family that have one.

Will it correct itself or is it something that needs to be corrected in the future. ...Visitor from NC

Answer:
Many underbite and overbite conditions "develop" regardless of genetics.

Since your child is 12 months of age... it is time for the first dentist visit.

The dentist may be able to determine at this early stage whether future growth spurts will correct the current underbite.... or not.
