Root Canal: Hello, just yesterday, I had a root canal done on my 2nd to last upper molar.
The dentist put in a temporary filling but did not take a casting of the tooth for a crown. I have an appointment one week from now.
He told me at that appointment he was going to perform a full exam of my teeth to see if there are any more major problems before making a cast and installing it.
I've had root canals before and never encountered this before. Any thoughts on this would help. Thank you ...Visitor from CO
It is likely that your dentist is being mindful of certain bite dynamics that could potentially cause an unfavorable bite pressure that could interfere with a "new biting force" element in your overall dentition.
Unbalanced bite pressures can cause treatment failures.
