No teeth at 1 year: I have a beautiful 1 year 1 month old baby girl and none of her teeth have come in.
After reading all the topics about missing teeth I find myself wondering if this might actually be a problem we need to look into. Should I be worried at this point seeming that neither my wife or I have any family history of missing teeth?
The doctor said that if she has no teeth at 15 months he will do an xray. This is the first issue of our second child. Could this be a problem? ...Visitor from TX
You are right to be concerned about your daughter's delayed eruption of her baby teeth.
I assume that the teeth are there and that she is just late with this. The upper front two teeth should erupt at 8-12 months and the bottom two front teeth should erupt at 6-10 months.
If they are simply late, this is fine.
If she were my beautiful baby, I would have an x-ray done just for peace of mind. You can have an extraoral (outside of face) x-ray of her jaw done easily to see all of the teeth that are forming.
Radiation exposure is almost insignificant and the film takes only a few minutes to do with nothing placed in her mouth.
