3 year old needs veneers? My daughter has tooth decay from sleeping with her bottle.
The dentist (a very good pediatric dentist) said that she needs to be sedated and veneers put on every one of her top teeth. My daughter does not appear to be in any pain and the teeth are really discolored.
Do I need to subject my 3 year old to this or should should we simply wait for her baby teeth to fall out and stop giving her a bottle at bedtime? ...Visitor from MI
Listen to your dentist or go to another dentist.
It is sad that a child has to ever suffer from bottle caries as it is painful, something children don't understand and is completely preventable.
Your pedodontist has training in what is needed to stop your child from having pain and embarassment from teeth that don't look good or could become cavities into the nerves.
Your child won't lose teeth for a few years so listen to your pedodontist, get your child's teeth fixed, stop giving them anything but water after brushing and flossing their teeth and discuss fluoride for your child if they can expectorate.
