Why would you wait 1 year after extraction for implants? ... Visitor from Knoxville
Many patients have implants placed at the same time of extraction, if bone graft requirements aren't significant.
For situations where bone graft material is required "in quantity"...... then the average wait for an implant to be placed is about 2-3 months.
After the healing, or osseointegration process is completed (all new solid bone), the implant is placed, requiring, usually, another 2 months of healing.
Waiting a year is a bit extreme, unless there are tissue or disease conditions that "force" this requirement. Your dentist should be able to supply you with these details.
