Upper denture vs implants: My denturist recommends I stay with Dentures for my upper teeth as I have too much bone to give enough room for implants.
My upper dentures are stable but I am 70 years old and I am concerned about a lot of shrinkage in the future. ... Visitor from Canada
You don't mention how long you have worn dentures but to have too much bone is a wonderful problem.
At age 70 if you haven't lost bone in any significant volume, I doubt this is going to become a big issue for you.
It certainly is not a problem to wait a few years and see how things go. Implants can be placed later if bone loss occurs.
However if you are unhappy with the denture, there are many ways to get the implants in place even with minimal space. If you look at my website, you will see a case with 2 small attachments protruding from the lower jaw. Those are only a couple of millimeters tall and work in almost any situation.
I hope this helps.
