Synthetic Tooth Enamel?

Question:
Are lasers being used to seal teeth against caries? Which lasers would be best for this use. ... Visitor from TX

Answer:
The Erbium Laser is the best laser to modify hard tissue with. We do not necessarily seal teeth any more in our office.

We do however use the laser to remove any bacteria in the grooves of the teeth and to remove any decayed tooth structure. Then we place a restoration if it is needed that looks like a tooth and also has fluoride in the material.

If you want to look at what some of these restorations look like you can go to our web site and look at the first few photographs.
