I've had braces for about 6 months and one of bottom molars is moving. The orthodontist noticed this but did nothing.
I'm worried as I don't know whether this is a baby tooth or not. Do you have to have all baby teeth extracted before having braces? ...Visitor from London UK
The baby teeth are functioning as place holders for the secondary teeth... whenever they come in.
If the baby teeth were extracted before the braces were placed, the full arch of teeth would reposition and close up the extraction sites... thereby preventing the secondary teeth from ever emerging.
