Unfortunately, too many patients are aware of the pain and sensitivity issues that can arise with amalgam replacements, cavity fillings and even routine bonding. Shrinkage, a normal phenomenon that occurs with the use of dental composites for posterior applications, is nearly universal. 3M ESPE now has developed a new product that has the lowest known shrinkage factor of less than 1 percent.

Patients who currently have unusual pain and sensitivity symptoms associated with recent composite resin treatments will want to watch how advancements in bonding chemistry will overcome this common problem. Video footage produced by 3M - ESPE.
