Six (6) Anterior Teeth Bonding

Bad porcelain veneer results: Hi, my question is: Is it normal for porcelain veneers (6) top to come back from the dental lab wrong two times?

The veneers coming back to my dentist do not look anything like the mold or the temporaries that the dentist made. No match at all.

Twice, they had to be sent back and the second time, the dentist had to put emphasis on the length and width of each tooth. My gums were all recontoured and the veneers look nothing of what the dentist did with the mold.

What do I do if they come back a third time wrong? ...Visitor from NJ

This is a difficult question because your dentist seems like he is trying to do his best, but with a third set of porcelain veneers coming back from the lab it makes you wonder.

I wonder if your dentist has enough experience in doing veneers,or if he is stll on the up slope of the learning curve?

The reason I say this is, that any confident, experienced cosmetic dentist would have provided the lab with all the pre-treatment photos and models, great impressions and a patient approved model of the wax-up of the case before the teeth were prepared for the veneers.

The dentist would also have sent a model of the temporaries that the patient was happy with as well.

A second point I thought about is that an experienced cosmetic dentist would be working with a top-notch cosmetic laboratory and would not put up with the veneers not being correct and beautiful not once, but twice already.

I hope your third set of veneers are acceptable and you are happy with them. If you are not happy with the third set, you will need to have a heart to heart talk with your dentist about where to go next with your cosmetic treatment.
