I recently had a new partial made and had to make several trips back for adjustments. The dentist has now decided to remake it but have gave me a temporary one in the mean time.
I wore it the next day and the roof of my mouth is so swollen I can't get the partial back in. I called them and they said take some benadryl and they will see me in a few days.
Any advice would be helpful. I'm at the point at a total loss with this process. .... Visitor from Athens
It sounds like your temporary partial has fabrication components that you are having an allergic reaction to that is causing tissues to swell. This is not an uncommon
event with dentures and partials.
If you had tissue swelling or tissue sensitivity issues with the permanent partial, be sure to talk to your dentist about it.
Most dental labs are aware of the components that some patients are sensitive to.... and can make adjustments accordingly. If not, it may be necessary to change dental labs.
