Partials FAQ Ask The Prosthodontist Chris Mc Farland Question:
Reusing partials: I have four permanent teeth left on top. They need to be pulled. I have a partial that replaces the teeth previously pulled.

I want to know if my old partial and the one I have now can be remolded and made into a top plate. I really need these remaining teeth pulled. They are hurting and breaking my fillings.

Is there any way I can use these partials. It would be greatly appreciated. I have no dental insurance so I would have to pay out of pocket to have this procedure done. Please please tell me it can be done. .... Visitor from Georgia

There is just no way to convert a partial to a denture. It would weigh too much and never fit correctly.

When you talk about losing four teeth, there is going to be a lot of change to your jawbone and this needs to heal and then make something at that time that will fit and be comfortable.
