Question:
Crown pain caused by partial: My new crowns ache when I wear my partial. Why? .... Visitor from VT

Answer:
If your partial attaches to those crowned teeth and you sense a lateral pressure on those teeth, the partial may need some simple adjustments for a fit that is "just right" rather than "too tight."

Another issue might be the actual teeth within the partial. There may be a design flaw that is causing a poor distribution of biting forces onto other teeth... namely your new crowns.

If your dentist is unable to differentially diagnose the problem, consult a Prosthodontist with 15+ years experience.
