Question:
Gum pain: I have pain in my gum but had my teeth pulled about 20 years ago. I do not wear a partial, I have a full upper denture.

This pain has been going on about two weeks now nothing will make it go away. What is this pain from? ...Visitor from Jackson

Answer:
If the denture is old, one possibility might be that the bony ridge that the denture rests on is losing height or width or both.

If your dentist is unable to accurately diagnose what is going on via x-rays, get a consult with a Prosthodontist.
