Mini Implants Ask The Prosthodontist Chris McFarland Question:
I have four mini implants to secure my lower dentures.

The two outer implants have bone slivers most likely the shavings from the implants being screwed in. But they are irritating my gums a bit and I'm afraid they might compromise the stability of my implants.

Every time I snap my teeth in they get pushed on and moved ... not the implants but the bone shavings sticking out around the implants. ...Visitor from OR

There should be no "shavings" around the neck of the implant.

This may only be irritation from the denture base but this needs to be addressed right away. You don't want to lose an implant from excessive force.

The tissue around the implant should be firm and healthy if things are as they should be. Anything other than a pain free insertion and removal of the denture is unacceptable.
