Denture implant abutments: How often do abutments in a denture need to be replaced?
My dentures are not a year old and the anchor device abutments have been replaced twice - at the cost of $250 each and I have 4! ... Visitor from TX
I'm not sure I understand your question. I assume that you have implant supported dentures with locator abutments.
I would think that the part that is being replaced is the nylon replacement male (the plastic-looking part that fits into the housing in your denture). I don't charge to replace the nylon males for the first year.
For many patients, I will order for them the color nylon males that they use and the tool, called the locator core tool, to remove and replace the inserts themselves.
You might ask your dentist if you can order this tool and the nylon replacements to do this yourself.
