FAQ:  Cyst

Video: Oral Cancer Screening Laser
Video: Bone Cyst Removal and Grafting

Question:
Last night I was running my hand over the lower right side of my face, there I found a tenderness right along the outer side of my face right in the jawbone line.

I pressed in on it there is quite a lump there, painful to the touch. I had never noticed this before. Could this be a starting of an abcess? My gums are not sore on the inside. Visitor from MI

Answer:
Could be an abscess, or a cyst, or a bone cavity, or about a hundred different other things. Have your dentist evaluate you right away and also go see an oral surgeon. Make sure you get a Panorex x-ray taken.
