Bridges Bridgework FAQ Ask The Dentist Ara Nazarian Question:
Painful Bridgework: My dentist seated a 3 tooth bridge about 5 months ago.

I still can not chew on that side of my mouth. I keep going back and he keeps telling me the bridge is fine.

If it is fine, why do I feel like I am chewing on shards of glass? I never had this problem before the bridge. ...Visitor from OH

Answer:
Does the bridge touch before the other teeth? Was it necessary to have to adjust the bridge at placement?

Are the teeth sensitive to hot and cold? This may be a bite issue, however, without seeing an xray or photograph it is difficult to say.

Usually, in our practice, patients only take a week or so to get used to a new bridge.
